Malibu Wired had the privilege of playing a role in such a transformative project, working alongside various skilled trades to bring a shared vision to life. This endeavor was further elevated by a special client of ours – Jonathan Scott. As a homeowner, constructor, and interior designer with more than 800 renovations under his belt, Jonathan was deeply involved in every phase. Together with his wife, Zoe, he personally designed many interior elements, ensuring their home met their exact vision.

Our team’s task was to introduce modern tech solutions while preserving the home’s traditional charm. While every home has its unique essence, this residence stood out for its rich architectural beauty. Our collective mission was to integrate state-of-the-art solutions seamlessly, emphasizing the home’s intrinsic character.

Balancing the old with the new was no small feat. Everyone recognized the importance of automation. Yet, the challenge was ensuring these modern inclusions felt natural within the home’s context. Thanks to industry frontrunners like Control4 and Lutron, we incorporated innovative solutions like invisible speakers and a custom motorized TV lift. The Meljac keypads, echoing the elegance of the 1930s, and Lutron motorized Roman Shades added contemporary convenience while honoring the past.

Beyond technology, the home’s spaces had their unique stories. The solarium, bathed in natural light, is a testament to this. This space, designed for acoustic harmony, is perfect for quiet moments and larger gatherings, adding a fresh dimension to the home’s ambiance.
