Lutron CEDIA 2026: What We’re Excited to Explore

Lutron is a major part of what we do at Malibu Wired. We regularly install its lighting and automated shades, and Rania and D2 fixtures are familiar parts of our work. These are systems we discuss with clients, coordinate with project teams, and install in real homes.

So when our Lutron representative visited us recently to talk through the news from CEDIA Expo 2026, the conversation quickly became practical. Which new fixtures could give our designers more flexibility? Where might they fit into upcoming projects? And what would we want clients to experience in person?

Why These Announcements Matter to Us

Our starting point is the room. The fixture has to suit the architecture, the light has to work with the materials, and the controls should make sense to the person living there.

That is the perspective we bring to Lutron’s expanding collection. More options are useful when they help us make a better recommendation for a particular space. A decorative pendant, a discreet downlight, and automated shades all contribute something different to the finished experience.

Orluna: Another Architectural Option to Explore

Lutron previewed Orluna for North America at CEDIA, with orders planned for early 2027. The range includes downlights, cylinders, and in-wall path lighting. Lutron’s announcement.

For us, the interesting part is having more architectural forms to evaluate alongside the lighting we already install. We want to look at how the fixtures sit in the ceiling, how they illuminate a surface, and how they feel at lower evening levels.

The U.S. DE2 specification lists white light from 1800K to 4000K, dimming to 0.1%, and support for HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3 through Lutron’s Tunable White Wireless Driver. DE2 specifications.

Those details give us a useful starting point. We will assess samples, complete configurations, and project costs before recommending where Orluna belongs in a client’s home.

Designer Fixtures Belong in the Same Conversation

Native by Design is another direction we are excited to explore. Matthew McCormick Studio offers its wood LINE LIGHT with Ketra and its alabaster LABRA with Rania or Lumaris options. Ted Bradley and Cerno also offer Lutron-integrated designs. Matthew McCormick, Ted Bradley, Cerno.

Our recommendation is to bring those decorative selections into the lighting discussion early. Share the pendant you love, the material palette, or the dining-room concept. We can then help evaluate the fixture’s configuration and controls alongside the rest of the room.

What We Want You to Experience

Installing Lutron shades is a regular part of our work, so we also think about the daylight entering a room. We recommend considering shades, architectural lighting, and decorative fixtures together: each affects how the space looks and feels throughout the day.

That is also informing our plans for the showroom at 7771. Our goal is to be among the first showrooms in our area to demonstrate selected new Lutron lighting offerings as they become available, subject to product access and confirmed deliveries. The final display selections are still being developed.
